Episode 6: Hey! Italy is on the way to Spain! Really!!

As we rejoin our weary travelers, Cheri & Mari are wandering around Venice, Italy staring in awe at the beauty of the canals & wishing they could afford a ride in the oh, so famous, gondola boats, but, alas, it was not meant to be… They did get to ride in the big huge water bus, though. They discovered that boy, oh boy, is there some good pizza in Italy! (even w/ the extra 12% tip & cover charge) Add a little shopping to the list & that pretty much sums up Italy! And now our heroines are homeward bound!

Episode 5: Walking in a Winter Slushyland

Episode 5: Walking in a Winter Slushyland
Vienna, Austria

Vienna, Austria

As the journey continues, Mari & Cheri find themselves in Vienna, Austria where the predominant theory seems to be “Why shovel the sidewalks if you can just cover it all with monster-sized sand?” The city is beautiful & amazing if you don’t look down and see that you are up to your knees in slush, even inside the buildings. For the first time, Cheri & Mari managed to find the elusive art museum. In fact, they went to 4 of them. They also got to visit with Anna, a friend from Baker University & JCPenney, which was great fun. That’s it for Episode 5.

Episode 4: Yes, Postcards are cheap in Prague

Episode 4: Yes, Postcards are cheap in Prague
Prague, Czech Republic

Prague, Czech Republic

The epic continues as Cheri & Mari attempt in vain to visit numerous beautiful sights of the former capital of the Holy Roman Empire. The experienced navigators happened across Dunkin Donuts, 2 KFCs, Little Ceasars Pizza & a plethora McDonalds, but were not so lucky in their quest to find the elusive art museum. So, much time was spent browsing through Czech glass shops & contemplating the possibilities of transporting a crystal chandelier by backpack. After a mere three days of trudging across the ice packed streets of this 1,000 year old metropolis & giving coins to the old man playing the accordion on the bridge–hey, he sings too–our heroines are on their way to another ancient cultural mecca: Vienna Austria.

Episode 3: Who needs 10 toes anyway?

Episode 3: Who needs 10 toes anyway?
Prague, Czech Republic

Prague, Czech Republic

The saga continues as Cheri & Mari try to put on yet another pair of socks. Who would think that w/ 2 pairs of thick socks your toes could still go numb? Due to the practically sub-zero temperatures in Prague, 100% wool gloves made in Nepal have now been added to the winter warmth collection. Now if here was just some way to keep scarves dry & frost free to prevent chapped faces, everyone would be a warm & happy camper. Cheri lives w/ the fear that snot will freeze to her upper lips. Is there a name for that phobia? And Mari who maneuvered up & down the icy streets, steps, & hills of Prague w/o once falling, managed to trip while walking up the escalator & has now developed a fear of those moveable stairs, Why oh why didn’t we just go to Italy? Be sure to catch the next zany episode of your favorite twins.

Episode 2: 2 Close 4 Comfort
Munich, Germany

Munich, Germany

As Christmas was spent in an enjoyable, relaxing, well-heated American environment chowing on Mac & Cheese, Cornflakes, Mexican food, and peanut butter cookies at cousins John & Terry’s residence, the tide was due to change, and now we join our friends in Munich Germany where due to the Christmas season and the ensuing lack of suitable accommodations, everybody’s favorite twins have come to the stark realization that there is not room in one twin bed for twins. As the morning dawned, our fair heroines trotted off downtown. The temperature? A supposed 12 degrees Fahrenheit. Time to buy scarves and goofy, yet warm hats that would make Mother proud. Seeing as how they weren’t sure how to get to the local art museum for their daily shot of culture, Mari and Cheri decided to spend the rest of the day shopping. They did try going to the Olympic Stadium Park but soon realized parks and freezing temperatures just don’t mix!

Please join your favorite twins for the next fun-filled installment from Prague, in the heart of the Czech Republic.

Paris, France

Mom & Dad!
Welcome to Mari & Cheri’s great European Christmas Extravaganza. Join us on our quest to see more, do more (and spend more–aghh) than we had previously thought possible. First stop, courtesy of the Gods of the train schedules: Paris. Though Paris was an unplanned pit stop, we have now accomplished several life time goals. No, we did not get tattoos. We went to the Louvre, world famous art museum, for our daily culture and became acquainted with the Mona Lisa. The evening found Cheri & Mari atop the Eiffel Tour for a birds-eye-view of Paris, but it was foggy and freezing, so naturally we quickly retreated to the safety of the gift shops to buy our own little Eiffel Tower. That’s it for Paris, next stop: Germany.
